Does having a CNPJ prove that a company is a reliable manufacturer?
No. CNPJ checks establish a registered entity and its cadastral information; Receita Federal and REDESIM can show status, activities, and the partners and administrators. They do not prove that the company owns a factory, meets your specification, holds current certificates, or can deliver the required volume. Request independent operational evidence, such as a testable sample, site evidence or a visit, trade references, a production plan, and certificates that can be verified.
Can Comex Stat be used to find manufacturers?
Use it as a discovery signal, not as final proof. Comex Stat is the official system for extracting Brazilian goods-trade statistics by products, countries, states, and other dimensions, so it can reveal trade context for an HS code or sector. It does not necessarily list every company, prove that an exporter is the manufacturer, or show that a past shipment matches your current product. Does ApexBrasil guarantee suppliers in its lists or meetings?
